2nd Generation HD DVD Player arriving in North America soon...

Guess some of you must have heard of it a few months back from various high-def and home theater enthusiast forums, but now official sources are confirming it...

Toshiba America is expected to announce its line-up of 2nd-generation HD DVD players for the North American market at CEDIA 2006. The event is expected to be held during Sept 14 - 16, 2006 in Denver, Colorado.

Toshiba America will be holding a press conference at the event on September 14, 2006 from 1100 - 1200 hours. The players are expected to be unveiled at this press conference, possibly along with other official HD DVD titles announcements...

The HD-XA2 is likely to be similar in specs to the European HD-XE1 (due in December) and may be a little pricier than US$799 SRP for the HD-XA1.

Though I've heard unconfirmed stuff about HD-A2... but wonders if it will be part of Toshiba's new line-up.
