List of HD DVD titles from Major Hollywood Studios due for Japanese market

Paramount Home Entertainment (Japan) has announced its first wave of HD DVD titles to debut in Japan on October 20. They include The Manchurian Candidate, U2: Rattle & Hum & Four Brothers. All 3 titles have been released in U.S./Canada back in July/August. They are each priced at 4,935 Yen (inclusive of relevant taxes). Another 3 titles have been added to the Nov 17 HD DVD release line-up, they include Mission: Impossible III (2 discs), M:i 1 - 3 box set (4 discs) & Black Rain (2 discs). Universal Studios Home Entertainment (Japan) has also announced its first wave of HD DVD titles to debut in Japan on September 29. They include Apollo 13, Van Helsing, Jarhead, Bourne Supremacy, Serenity & Doom. All should be presented in their original theatrical aspect ratio and will feature Dolby Digital-Plus 5.1 (English & Japanese) audio. English & Japanese subtitles are provided. Each of them should be priced at 4,980 Yen. These 6 titles were already released in U.S./Canada back in April/May. Cover artwork previews below...

Warner Home Video (Japan) has announced 4 HD DVD titles that will debut on November 3. They are Firewall, The Fugitive, Full Metal Jacket and Swordfish. The main feature for all HD DVD titles will be presented in their original aspect ratio at 1080i resolution using VC-1 compression. For all titles except Full Metal Jacket, the main feature's audio will be in Dolby Digital-Plus 5.1 (English & Japanese). Japanese and English subtitles are provided. All bonus materials included will be similar to those on the U.S. HD DVD releases.
