New HD DVD Titles from Universal Studios Coming Soon

Some distribution and retail sources have updated me that Universal Studios Home Entertainment is intending to release the following titles on HD DVD/DVD Combo format discs. Each of them should be priced at $34.98 SRP. Please also note that it is still possible that some of these titles may not be due for the HD DVD/DVD Combo Format disc when they are finally announced.

• Waterworld

November 21

• Dr Seuss How The Grinch Stole Christmas

November 28

• An American Werewolf in London
• Dune (Theatrical)
• Meet The Parents
• The Mummy

As these information do not come to me directly from Universal Studios Home Entertainment and have not been officially announced, there is still the possibility of changes to the release specs/details or titles being withdrawn. But I think I can safely say here that the information indicates that these titles are coming... I'm hoping that King Kong will feature a TrueHD audio track...

By the way, combo format discs do not just come in the HD DVD (15GB) / DVD (8.7GB) configuration only, there is another one, the HD DVD (30GB) / DVD (8.7GB) configuration which is also part of the HD DVD format specifications. So superb visual/aural quality that is expected may not be compromised for some of these exciting titles if the latter configuration is used...
