Toshiba's First Qosmio HD DVD Notebook PC

The Toshiba Qosmio G35-AV650 Notebook with HD DVD technology is available now over atToshibaDirect.com. The first HD DVD notebook from Toshiba will, as its name suggest, include a HD DVD-ROM drive. That same optical drive is also capable of reading CDs and DVDs, and writing CD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW/R DL and DVD-R/RW/R DL. Among the specifications highlights, the system will include

>> 17" diagonal widescreen Ultimate TruBrite™ TFT active-matrix LCD display at 1920x1200 native resolution (WUXGA) that supports 1080p content
>> HDMI port with support for 1080i, enabling connectivity to a high-definition TV (with HDMI or DVI-HDCP enabled) for output of HD DVD content
>> Dolby® Home Theater™, delivering a rich, engaging surround sound experience from stereo and multichannel audio sources through headphone, 2-channel or 5.1-channel speaker systems
>> a 1-bit digital amplifier, usually found in high-end audio systems, that enables a higher quality signal
>> Bass Reflex Speaker technology from harman/kardon®, enabling richer audio and a deeper bass

The system uses Intel Centrino Core Duo Technology platform [Intel Core™ Duo Processor6 T2500 (Dual 2.0 GHz, 2MB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB) and Intel PRO/Wireless12 Network Connection 3945ABG (802.11a/b/g)] and has 1024MB PC5300 DDR2 667MHz SDRAM (512MBx2). Bluetooth connectivity and TV tuner also included.
