All three movies in the Matrix film franchise, The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded & The Matrix Revolutions will be released on the HD DVD format on May 22, presented in glorious 1080p High Definition 16x9 2.4:1 video with Dolby TrueHD 5.1 lossless audio. Dolby Digital-Plus (5.1 English, 5.1 French & 2.0 Spanish) audio tracks are also provided. English [SDH], French & Spanish subtitles are provided.
All three will include Warner's HD DVD-Exclusive In-Movie Experience interactive feature. For these titles, the IME will let viewers experience via picture in picture the evolution of all The Matrix's ground breaking elements through the recollections of the cast and creative team.
There will be 2 HD DVD release configurations available for sale on that day. Only The Ultimate Matrix Collection HD DVD set would include all the bonus materials previously found on the 10-disc DVD release of The Ultimate Matrix Collection and previous DVD editions of The Matrix.

The HD DVD side of each of the HD DVD/DVD Combo discs found in the Ultimate Matrix Collection will contain the high-definition version of the entire main feature, along with extras ported over from the 2-disc DVD set of each title. (The content on each HD-30 disc in The Complete Matrix Trilogy HD DVD set will be the same).
On the other hand, the DVD side will contain only the 'Revisited' extras of each title previously found on the DVD release of the Ultimate Matrix Collection. All the bonus materials present on both sides of the HD DVD/DVD Combo discs are in 480i/p Standard Definition.
All other extras present on the remaining double-sided DVD will also be in 480i/p Standard Definition.
