Miami Vice HD DVD/DVD Combo, Dec 5...

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has indicated that Miami Vice (2006) will be due on HD DVD/DVD Combo format disc, this coming Dec 5, day-and-date with the DVD release.

The HD DVD side will feature the 2h 20mins Director's Cut (Unrated) while the DVD side will feature the 2h 13 mins theatrical cut. As usual, the main feature on the HD DVD side will be presented in 1080p High Definition Widescreen 2.40:1 with Dolby Digital-Plus 5.1 and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 (English) audio, while its DVD side counterpart will be presented in Anamorphic Widescreen 2.40:1 will Dolby Digital 5.1 audio.

A Note to Readers: As with many of the earlier Universal Studios HD DVD releases, the release information and release specs provided are still possibly subject to changes because no official press release were originally provided for them, so these titles which Universal Studios have indicated to be released on HD DVD may still be withdrawn anytime before the title is originally due at retail. But we will try to keep up with any confirmed changes.

Sadly, The Hulk HD DVD has currently been removed from Universal Studios' release plans, this is confirmed by the studio, distribution and retail sources. Maybe because King Kong HD DVD will be bundled with Xbox 360 HD DVD player, more dual-layered disc pressing is probably needed to be done for King Kong and hence The Hulk HD DVD release had to be postponed... this is the only explanation I can come up with that makes sense since both The Hulk and King Kong were originnally due at retail on the same day.

With The Hulk removed, it seems logical that Universal Studios is planning on a Nov 14 release for Accepted on HD DVD/DVD Combo.
